WHAT IS “BARK BOOST?”

Bark Boost is our own superfood recipe developed to give dogs the nutrient-dense holistic boost that they need. While carnivorous canines thrive on meat-based diet using fat-for-fuel, a boost of bio-available vegetables on top of kibble or raw food can help give additional support to the body.

Here’s the process: we macerate and cold-press the organic vegetables and other ingredients to make the nutrients as bio-available as possible. In this form, dogs are able to use all of the good stuff inside the veges since the nutrients are broken down just enough and then “locked in.”

Since dogs lack salivary amylase (an enzyme that helps break down veges) and have limited amounts of amylase in their pancreas…in order to actually benefit from the nutrients found in veges, the ingredients have to be cold-pressed (not highly processed or eaten completely raw).

BARK BOOST INGREDIENTS AND BENEFITS

Here’s a list of the ingredients found in our Bark Boost. We’ve specifically chosen each ingredient due to the unique benefits they provide for our puppies:

  • Fresh, Leafy Greens (Kale, Spinach and Dandelion Greens):  these dark leafy greens are the most nutrient dense around! These greens contain Vitamin K (to help with bone development and lung/heart cell growth), Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Copper (to support collagen maturation), and Lutein and Zeaxanthin (to aid with eye function).

  • Celery: an amazing anti-inflammatory ingredient, celery also contains the cancer busting flavonoid Luteolin.

  • Zucchini: zucchini is a packed superfood with a number of positive benefits. Zucchini contains Manganese, which increases levels of Superoxide dismutase, the enzyme responsible for protecting mitochondria against oxidative stress. The fiber in zucchini also promotes healthy stools and prevents carcinogenic toxins from settling in the colon.

  • Lemon: in a dog’s metabolic system, lemon has an alkalizing effect on the bodily fluids, which helps to restore balance to your pup’s pH levels between meals. A balanced pH is critical for cell development and it responsible for a stronger immune system overall.

  • Turmeric: one of nature’s wonder drugs, turmeric is packed with curcuminoids, a natural and highly effective anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.

  • Ginger: with medicinal uses dating back for centuries, ginger has more than 40 pharmacological actions, including broad spectrum antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant and anti-parasitic properties.

  • Coconut Oil: an incredible source of medium chain fatty acids to support skin and coat health.

  • Beef Bone Broth: naturally occurring glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate help promote joint health and prevent and alleviate arthritis, while the collagen boosts connective tissue function.

IN SUM, THE MOST POWERFUL BENEFITS BARK BOOST ARE:

  • Elevation of antioxidants

  • Powerful anti-inflammatory properties

  • Immunity support

  • Joint rejuvenation

  • Balances pH levels

  • Supports heart, lung, liver, eye, and muscle development and growth

  • Promotes digestive health

HOW TO SERVE BARK BOOST

Serving Bark Boost is the best part! Our Bark Boost comes frozen in 12 oz or 26 oz re-sealable tubs. All you have to do is defrost the veges in the fridge and serve!

We recommend that you mix Bark Boost directly in with food, starting with one tablespoon of the vegetables and then increasing slowly up to 20% of your pup’s meal.
